Episode 36: Breaking the Silence: An Interview with Rowena Chiu

In this episode, we have the privilege of speaking with Rowena Chiu, a former assistant of Harvey Weinstein whom he silenced for decades, along with her colleague Zelda Perkins. Chiu shares a range of valuable insights as a survivor, and describes the unusual experience of being portrayed in the recent movie “She Said,” based on the book by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey.

Chiu talks about the difficult decision to go public with her story and the years of being pursued by journalists before she became a source for Kantor and Twohey’s reporting. We also discuss NDAs, the many survivors who cannot come forward, barriers to justice in the legal system, and destructive stereotypes about Asian women. We’ll also tell you about the uncanny coincidence that brought us together.

Join us for a powerful conversation with a woman of exceptional character, strength, and a healthy dose of humor.
