Episode 29: Sexual Abuse Lawsuits: Your Legal Questions Answered with Kathryn Robb, Esq. Part 1

Today’s episode is the first in a special series with attorney/survivor Kathryn Robb all about civil lawsuits for child sexual abuse. Today we will get an update on Kathryn’s own case under the New York Child Victims Act, talk a bunch about defamation including ways for survivors to protect themselves from being sued, statute of limitations revival legislation, anti-SLAPP laws, NDA’s and non-disparagement clauses, the Speak Up Act, responsibilities of youth-serving organizations, and how insurance companies can help protect children. Next week, we’ll get into the how-to’s and procedures of filing a lawsuit starting with finding and hiring an attorney.
